November light is so good for picture taking.
It's a beautiful time to see the city, especially Karl-Marx-Allee (can't wait until that street is covered with snow).
November is good for wearing Wrist Worms, necessary when taking pictures. Until 1st of December the Wrist Worms are 20% off with discount code NOVEMBER.
Hello Monday, I look forward to this week - I'M GOING TO SEE THE PET SHOP BOYS ON THURSDAY! Haven't seen them for 8 years!
Talking about the weather is a topic I gladly avoid when I meet friends, I'd rather talk about heartaches, good food, dogs, far away places, politics and so on.
But, here it comes: I'm a weather reports junkie. I can always answer when someone asks how the next few days are going to be. Why? Well, first - heating up my apartment with coal, it's necessary for me to know if the temperatures all of a sudden will drop - it takes many many hours to get the oven hot enough to heat up my place. And second - I love to walk and prefer to dress in a way that I don't get too hot or too cold.
On Sundays, the stores in Berlin are closed, so imagine if I run out of coal on a Sunday morning and it's -15°C. Brr. It takes a bit of planning to have this old-fashioned (and shitty for the environment, I know) heating system, people said I would go crazy, but still after 6 years I don't find it that much of a hassle as I work from home and the heat is much more comfortable than from radiators. Picture above shows how coal can be delivered to your home, but I don't have any space in the basement to put it, so I go to the hardware store instead.
When WeatherBug asked me if I wanted to check out their weather app, I said yes. I really like how thorough it is and it helps me to plan for a warm home and inform my friends what they might have to look forward to ;)

A great way to brighten up November.
Meet friends for coffee and chat away half of the day.
The blue hour in Kreuzberg yesterday when I was out buying yarn.
Today I'm being a factory, a coffee abusive one.
Until 1st of December the Wrist Worms are 20% off with discount code NOVEMBER. Picture of me is taken by my friend Vincent. People say I look like a rabbi. If I get a black horse, will they call me Zorro?
Wrist Worms have been a very popular gift for the holidays through the years, giving someone warm hands gives a good feeling, doesn't it? Until 1st of December the Wrist Worms are 20% off with discount code NOVEMBER. If you live outside of Europe, I recommend to place the order soon to make sure they arrive before the holidays.
Why Wrist Worms?
Apart from adding something extra to your outfit, keeping your wrists warm makes your hands stay warm which is ideal in situations when you can't have your fingers trapped in regular gloves, for example when:
Playing an instrument
Going skiing or doing other outdoor sports
Writing & Drawing
Typing on your computer, offices can be chilly
Selling stuff at an outdoor market
Taking out a pram for a walk
Using a touchscreen device
Holding that glass of cold beverage at that amazing garden party
Sleeping / Reading a book in a chilly room
Wrist Worms are handmade by me with 100% natural materials and 100% love.
I just emptied my phone and thought we could have a look at some pictures I've been taking the past couple of months. Having coffee outside is probably not going to happen until next year.
Pictures I took simply because I liked the colours.
On a very hot day in September when Johan and I walked from Lichterfelde to Schöneberg to Kreuzberg to Friedrichshain.
My camera roll was pretty full of pictures of Wrist Worms. I started making lentil soups, trying out different taste combos every time.
Jugendstil gone loco.
Had a party at my friends' hair salon AVA. Engin: Vincent, we HAVE to do something about your beard! NOW!
Trump's fans love that button.
We need to catch the sun, where is it?! And we ended up hanging out outside of Berghain. Like teenagers.
The hallway with a pile of Wrist Worms.
Took some pictures for The Bird Xberg and got to eat the food, yum.
My Swedish driving license expired and if you come from one EU country and live in another EU country you renew it where you're registered. The old picture (I look like a politician) was taken in 2005 right after Johan and I decided to hook up. The new one... I was so sick. Already had a picture I was pleased with, but it didn't fit the measurements. Will only live with it for 15 years ;)
I made beanies for me and Johan. And cut a fringe because I got so tired of all that hair that has looked the same for so many years now. I used to change it so often.
A new magazine dedicated to yarn, Koel Magazine. It's very beautiful.
My brother from another mother, Erik, came to visit. We went to see Goat at Berghain, so good.
Erik and I in 2012 and 4.5 years later.
A beautiful poster and a great message (OK, the idiot in me read Star Wars when I first saw it).
Met up with Johan in Markthalle Neun one evening when he had an exceptionally good hair day. People were taking pictures of him when they thought he didn't see, I was one of them ;)
The most beautiful time of the year arrived.
I felt high from all the beauty. Now most of it is gone, it's grey November but I refuse to be a November bully. Grey is also good.
Hot and spicy food, all winter, yes.
Well, what can I say? I love you, Berlin.
Another way to stay warm is to go and scream some karaoke with your friends. Uh, or sing.
An evening in Mitte, walking around, looking at things.
View from the studio.
Last week I finally did something about my hair. I went to Janina at Ava and said No more putting up the hair in a bun! It's a relief, I mostly let it grew out because I wanted to take the chance to have long hair with my natural colour before it turns grey. Done.
Look at Johan! Isn't the make up amazing?! And what about me? I am so focused at taking the picture. As usual. This is us going to a super fun party on Friday night.
And this is waking up at a decent time considering the long party night, the sun was out and my body was screaming for cheese soup at Boxi, my favourite food after a night out.
All in all - I had so much fun the past couple of months! Now I'm ready for WINTER.
The owls are not what they seem. Do I need to tell you how much I'm looking forward to the new Twin Peaks? I've been watching the whole series once a year since it was first shown on TV. Never ending inspiration.
Another inspiring character on this planet is Monika, we did a swap the other month - she sent me this lovely poster (+ an amazing tote bag) and I sent her a pair of Wrist Worms.
Sparrows, I love them. Wish we could be friends and have coffee together.
